Help with SSD freezing, SATA driver?

Hi there, i first posted here which gives an overview of my problems

Very specific and strange freezing problem

From searching around, I seemed to have narrowed it down to an issue with my SSD. Under unknown circumstances, it will "beach ball" me and whilst i can still move my mouse and even open chrome tabs, my SSD won't respond for about a minute or so and i can't load anything new and all my games etc. will freeze up

I've tried disabling LPM in my BIOS, which didn't seem to help. I've heard that changing back to IDE instead of AHCI might help, though this seems like a downgrade and might have potential other issues? But may be a good last resort

I've heard that a good idea might be to update my SATA drivers, though i have no idea how this is done or whether such an operation is safe (I didn't even know such things existed - a quick google search doesn't make it obvious how i "update my SATA drivers")
In my device manager, when i try to update from there it claims they are already up to date. Is this a windows7 problem? Would this be best to update to windows 10? (perhaps wrong forum then haha)

My SSD is a 480gb kingston, and my motherboard is a ASUS brand.

Thank you for any help, very much appreciated!

it MIGHT hacking/virus/malwares activities , irregular VOLTAGES issues that HARDEN ur SSD DISK, u might need to buy new ones. FIRST of all.. try RE-format ur SSD quickly BEFORE IT TOO LATE! and re-install it back ur needs.
