    Journal Note Writer Printer Driver

    Hi everyone....

I opened Windows Journal for the first time and was asked to install the Writer printer driver. I declined to do so but now I want to install the driver. When I open Windows Journal it no longer asks me to install the printer driver. How do I get to install the Journal printer driver now?

    thank you

Journal Note Writer Printer Driver the whole program

I found on an old win 7 drive, the original windows journal program which allows the printing to a JNT file. I didn't find it anywhere else so Iam posting it here. It's seperated into 2 ZIP files to stay below the 2MB limit for the forum. Open each ZIP file, then combine them both together.

.......Windows Journal has long been a thorn in Microsoft's side. Attackers have found that jimmying the JNT file can take over a PC -- if you double-click on a JNT file, your PC could be handed over to an exploiter. You don't have to do anything other than open the JNT file. .............

SO, DON'T OPEN ANY .JNT FILE YOU DIDN'T MAKE YOURSELF!!

    from the site:

Please send me the link to the older version with the printer driver.

I used to be able to install the Journal Note Writer printer from one of the versions I have saved along the way, but now on a new computer, when I click on Install/Repair Journal Note Writer, I get an error message that the system can't find the specified file.

    Any ideas?

Is this Windows 10? It's probably been removed. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=53003 OneNote has taken its place.

BTW - Check that email at the HaveIBeenPwned website. Have I Been Pwned? - Wikipedia

Any hacker worth his/her salt will know how to grab those leaked databases and now they know more than your email... Case in point: don't ever publicly relinquish your email address. Use more than one email address. One for forums and other online crap like Facebook, another for Amazon, bank, PayPal, eBay, etc. Learn to use email filters and folders for specific emails to help scrutinize suspect spear phishing emails and whatnot. If it looks like Amazon and didn't go to the Amazon folder, it might be fake...

    Fixed--Needed Admin rights

Fixed! I needed to get Admin rights in order to install the Journal Note Writer printer.

    Here's how:
    Installed Windows Journal Version 10.0.237.
    Open it.
    Make sure it runs.
    Quit/Exit.

    Then copied/installed Version 10.0.10586.545.
Double-click on Journal.exe in this folder to open Journal.
    Then click on Tools.
Choose Install/Repair Windows Journal Note Writer.
    Follow instructions.

    It works!
