It looks like you have the correct driver installed for the ethernet adapter the Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast ethernet controller(NDIS 6.20).

Are you looking for wireless connectivity instead?

Firstly...thanks for taking the time to look at this...I have wireless at the moment...it all seems fine...it was just that I saw a message that came up that I did not have ethernet driver...perhaps it was installed when it auto updated.

If you are not now receiving the message then the ethernet driver should be correct is this now the case?

Comptia A+ course if you want to learn hardware and software is a good starting point.

Link below for some material for you to look at:
Professor Messer, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux, Microsoft Certification Training

A good author is Mike Meyers on comptia A+ study exam guide which will help prepare you for the exam.

Thanks for the links...i will definitely be checking them out...I now have had an idea that the last time I had movie maker on this netbook,I needed to install silverlight and then I could use it...I have no idea why...i have now uninstalled the live essentials 2012 and attempting to install movie maker that is with essentials 2011...will have to see how that goes.

I have had some serious crashes on this netbook...it has only been set up since yesterday so something is amiss...one of the crashes came along with a screen message in red...it is working at the moment but I have no idea of what to check or look for...before repairing this netbook I was going to just go and buy a new laptop and be done with all the hassle etc...as it is,I have spent a lot of time and a small bit of cash getting this sorted, from a new screen to hard drive...my Son dropped this about a year ago and it lay dormant for some time until I thought it would be a good way to
get online,ie cheaply !...maybe the time has come to abandon this and just be done with it...it is very frustrating waiting for stuff to load and work and I spend more time sorting the thing out !!!... however,I digress !

thanks again for the info links....

Glad the links will be useful to you.

If you could post a screenshot of the error message we may be able to help, it maybe better to create a new thread for this issue as it seems a little different from the one you have had giving all relevant details.

Thanks for the offer but I had to just press the off switch at the time and I have looked in the archived error folder and it is not there...probably because I needed to turn off...it was the only thing I could do as the whole screen was in red text and a loud buzzing was going on...it said something about if this was the first time it had happened etc but because of the buzzing and as it seemed to be frozen and not going anywhere I just pressed on the off button...it hasn`t happened since.
