    Drivers Not Found Lexmark 3500-4500

This problem is 2 years old and no-where have I found a solution. I am pretty good with pcs and in fact I had another one with Vista which I upgraded to Win 7 and the drivers worked instantly! Yet on this Hewitt Packard with the 64 bit Win 7 it has refused for 2 years to recognise the same drivers. I have un-installed dozen times and re-installed. And yes I have the 64bit drivers in the correct file ie cjq3500-4500Win7en.exe but every install says drivers not found. Wireless connection also won't work, and trying to update drivers is impossible as it's greyed out by windows and not selectable. Under general tab, it even says Manufacturer unknown! I believe this is a problem with 64bit Win 7, where as 32 bit installed (on the other pc) with no trouble. It could be time to throw something away, but there's nothing wrong with the printer

Is it similar to a Lexmark X4650 (the printer I have)? I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and have no issues with drivers.

Unfortunately no and I've seen many people having similar issues and no working solutions. It works on a 32bit Win 7 but not 64 bit.

My Lexmark X5150 would work under Win 7, but never properly.

Even then, I had to use the Vista drivers.

And the Lexmark editing software won't work. At all.

No issues at all with the Canon Pixma 520, or the Lexmark ES250 laser-printer.

    resolved

Hi, i had the same problem and it was driving me nuts.
    The solution is the following:

    1) Download from lexmark the windows vista 64 bit drivers not the windows 7 ones(cjq3500-4500es.exe).
    2) dont click the cjq3500-4500es.exe just right click an unzip
    3) right click on setup.exe, properties ,compatibilty tab, select windows vista, and tick run as administrator on the bottom.
    4) run and install setup.exe normally
    5) reboot

    Enjoy!
