    unknown device fingerprint sensor issue

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

    location : Port_#0001.Hub_#0003

    Unknown USB Device (code 43)
For the past few weeks or so one of my USB controllers seem to have been malfunctioning. but it was working fine a month ago ,before that i fully recovered my notebook by pressing f11 using hp recovery manager but i lost my finger print sensor as malfunctioned then i tried to clean reinstall windows 7 home premium 64
bit , and activated again using the genuine product keys . all drivers updated but not with fingerprint reader . if i remove the ribbon cable of fingerprint device from the zif connector then i see no more this error in device manager . if i again insert the cable in to that zif connector , then after power on i see the same error in device manager .

uninstalling the Unknown Device through Device Manager does absolutely nothing if any device is plugged in to USB. Doesn't matter which device, the device itself will continue working but Windows will try (and fail) to reinstall whatever driver it thinks is missing, so the Unknown Device comes back straight away.

Hello salluhassan, I worked in an HP call center doing support on HP laptops I have seen this work on different problems from malfunctioning keyboards, USB ports, fingerprint scanners and laptops that refuse to power on. In fact it is the first step in a lot of HP's logic flows. This does not work every time nor does it solve all issues but it's worth a shot. HP refers to this as a hard reset, remove your battery unplug your A/C so no power is going to the NB hold power button down for 30 sec reconnect and power back on.

i already did that hard reset many time when i was trying to remove the ribbon cable from its zif connector . but its the same error after i reboot the notebook , i doubt that i forgot to install chipset drivers at first , while i was updating windows updates and other hp drivers. but later i installed this chipset drivers .but no success related to fingerprint sensor device . anyhow i would appreciate if anyOne tell me how to install chipset exe file using command prompt as i recall when i try to install it using these parameters >> -overall , -override . this override command donot work but -overall command works but no idea what to do regarding this ,

Load device drivers from HP Support

You need to load device drivers from HP Support (support.hp.com) - the drivers are not available on Windows Update.
