Installing older Canon printer, driver is incompatible - make it work?

Running Win 7 64 bit. Printer: Canon ImageRunner Pro 7110VP.

The most recent driver Canon offers for this printer is from 2005, and Win7 says it's incompatible when I chose the "have disk" option. Is there a way to install a printer as if 7 were running XP?

I have to install it over a network via TCP/IP if that matters.

    Please help!

Right mouse click on the driver and run in Compatibility Mode.

As far as I know you can't use a 32 bit driver on a 64 bit OS. If that's your situation look for a Vista 64 bit driver.

I don't see any 64 bit drivers on their down page: Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : imageRUNNER 110

    Any ways around this?

Not that I know of. XP Mode for windows 7 maybe? I think you need 7 Ultimate for that.

Had to contact Canon directly to get the 64bit driver. No idea why they haven't hosted the drivers on the site, or why even the submission form to contact them on their site is broken.
