Control Panel Mouse Applet Problem

Hi to everyone:

First of all, i want to congratulate every person involved with this forum, its awsome!!

Yesterday i tried to change some cursor options and got this:

"shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\WINDOWS\System32\main.cpl," Mouse"

The mouse applet dont work any more, I have an ACER ASPIRE 5536, with no special mouse hardware installed, just the touchpad and a regular optical mouse from logitech.

Please help..... THANKS in advance.

Hi Manimal, sorry to interrupt, I have a the same ACER model like you do, the 5536G

I have opened up a thread for a strange problem I have encountered...have you ever noticed the top right button 'P' used to launch the Launch Manager, does yours light up ? I noticed mine stopped lighting up when I press it. It does work but the LED doesn't light up anymore, I have windows 7 too, but even on Vista it never worked. It only worked when it came out from Acer.

Do you know anything?
Sorry again for disturbing.

Hey Drowsy..

No interruption at all..

In my computer the launch manager key is a normal key with no light, it have the solid blue borders and thats it. Maybe thats the way it is and never light up, you should check it

I've been searching the internet for several hours but I haven't been able to find an answer for this, so I would really appreciate your help. I can't open Mouse Properties in Control Panel. I click and nothing happens. I ran sfc /scannow but it didn't fix the problem. It found some corrupted...

hide the parental controls applet in the control panel
I've been trying to hide the parental controls applet in the control panel. (actually there are several other applets I would like to hide, but I started with this one.) I've been trying to do this for well over an hour and I can't believe it is so difficult. First I tried using the group policy...
Stereo only option in Sounds applet in Control Panel
I have a Creative Labs and a Logitech z-5500 5.1 sourround system. Originally, everything worked fine so I know this is not a hardware problem. I've recently had to reinstall Windows 7 Ult 64, and now I'm only getting stereo sound out of my 5.1 system. Going into Sounds/Diagnostics in control panel...
