By the way your previous link was for Windows 8 x86, I guess. Nice to help you :)
This is the second update to the chipset drivers that render my rig unbootable. It would appear that AMD still hasn't fixed the bug for SB7xx series. Looks like I have to stay with v13.12.
I think those AMD chipset drivers stand alone install were revised once again last October 24....
Just in passing, I mention that 14.9 has some kind of Catalyst Control Center incompatibility with the HD5450 video cards, for which it is theoretically fully compatible and usable. I've seen this an all machines I've upgraded that have HD5450 hardware.
CCC seems to start and run fine, but when you close it an abend occurs (in BEX64.exe) and a message window appears on the screen. You then have to push the "close the program" button to make the message window disappear, and all is fine. So CCC did whatever you wanted it to do when it was open and in use, but it abends when you close the program.
This also occurs when you re-boot.
Annoying. I've reported this to AMD. We'll see when they get around to fixing it. I'd rather live with the issue and get 14.9 drivers, than back off to an older driver/CCC where the problem doesn't exist.
14.12 chipset drivers out (both 32 and 64 bit in one package),
Chipset
From the release notes for the SATA/AHCI found in the package,
Revision History
1.3.001.0245
- Fix the SB700 A12 boot hang issue if PM is enabled
- Enable MSI + CCC as one option
- Fix the long timer DPC WHCK failure for WNGlitchfree HD Video Playback on AC
- Added Carrizo support
So if the manufacturer of my computer is not offering a chipset update and my system has had only one BSOD event in the six months since purchase then I should not bother?
