Installed Windows 7, No Audio Device, Sound Problems

Hi Everyone,

I have recently changed my OS to Windows 7 and have sound problems saying No Audio Device.
When I used windows update, it installed VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller successfully, but that only works occasionally. The sound goes blank all of a sudden. I have tried other audio drivers like Real tek AC 97 V. 6305, but they do not work either. I have also tried few driver scan software, but no use.

Can someone please go through my system specifications mentioned below and suggest me compatible audio device and/or drivers. I do not have other audio device.

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Model KM400-8235
System Type X86-based PC
Processor AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+, 1666 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 1 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG, 28-07-2004
SMBIOS Version 2.3

Thanks in advance.

Tanmi Gold.

You're using what MSI calles a "retired motherboard" -- which came out a LONG time ago!

The link below is to the MSI retired products forum, which you can then use to search for threads related to your KM400:
