Ok mate sorry late reply - night duty and have had to sleep a bit. NowI had a problem with my Sandy Bridge build using a new monitor and it turnedout to be that I needed to update or make sure I had the Catalyst ControlCentre installed, because of soe scaling issue.

Now make sure you get the drivers for the Radeon up todate AMD Catalyst

    and the CCC
    AMD Catalyst

The driver for your monitor I cannot find LG has a shocking support system however there is a site that has drivers but I don't like using 'aftermarket" driver sites personally but it is up to you. I would do it through Device Manager in the Control Panel first > just right click on the device - see pic.
Don't forget too any controls on the device itself..

The other option is Download LG Electronics Inc. Drivers - Download LG Electronics Inc. Drivers - DriverAgent.com use only if desperate but I think updating the Radeon and the CCC might just do the trick.

If this still fails I have a good friend who may be better qualified than me to help you.

Well I don't know why the LG driver cannot be found - might be worth contacting the retailer - did the monitor come with a disk of any sort if not sounds like very strange.

All of my monitors and I have five different brands all came with an install disk. As you said and I think I mentioned looks like a an "aftermarket" driver site is going to be the only way of finding one which is a thing I don't like doing.

You could try Slim Drivers it is cloud based and can be irritating with pop ups and the like. I have used it in the past as a last resort, and the thing is to make sure your security is up to date, sweep with on call scanners and I always uninstall it when I am finished.
But it is a last resort.

I have extensively searched again and the best thing I think Morgalg would be go to here as I cannot find any refs to a driver in the LG site and just ask mate.

Maybe the thing is supposed to download it's inbuilt software or something but whatever the problem it certainly shies me away from ver buying LG stuff the support is less than ordinary.

Personally I like the Benq's Philips, Samsungs ,Dells (a bit expensive) and Asus - sorry couldn't do more than this mate.
That driver site might be of help though.

    The L2000CE-BF?
LG L2000CE-BF Support: Find Manuals & Warranty Info | LG USA

Under software update, Download the LC200C.zip file and extract it to a folder.

    *Open the device manager.
    *Expand the Monitor section.
*Right Click your monitor and choose Properties, then click the Drivers tab.
*Choose Update Driver, and then click Browse my computer.

Choose the folder you just downloaded and unzipped. You want the folder that contains the 3 files (.ini, icc, and Security Catalog)

Thanks WM I did quite a sweep of the global sites but didn't come across this one

OP quoted just CE at the end of the model number and I got sevearl refs to square and wide screen stuff well i hope this sorts it out for him.

I think you'll agree the support from LG and the lack of a disk is pretty ordinary.

So i did everything as ya said and nothing worked. Aye WM L2000CE-BF. Theres still chance that drivers are somewhere in ma house, just havent time to look after that cd yet. and also after installin drivers wm proposed names changed from not generic to generic. but it still isnt lg. anyway thanks for such a great engagement.

If that is indeed your monitor, and it installed the drivers just fine, do not worry how the device manager shows it. Generic or whatever.

What matters is if its recognized and working properly in regards to resolution etc.

I have a HDTV for example hooked up to my PC that shows as Generic PNP Monitor in the device manager.
My LG monitor shows up properly and named correctly in the device manager.

However, in the Nvidia Control Panel it shows not only the PC monitor correctly, but also shows a Panasonic HDTV as display 2, and it works as it should.

Anyways, my point is do not get to hung up on Device manager giving the exact name. Someetimes it may not show the correct name there, but your graphics card will know whats going on and everything can be setup there.

Did you fix your resolutioon problem?
