On the SM Bus Controller Properties window click on the Details tab and once you're in there click on the down arrow under property and choose Hardware Ids . I need a screen print of that .

cool that seems to have worked thanks . now how would i go about downloading motherboard drivers or do i not have to do that?
Hi Deception35,
Thank you for the response.
Glad that the issue is fixed.
The device with the 'yellow bang' listed in 'Device Manager' was the 'Intel Chipset SM Bus Controller' driver. You may also want to run the 'Intel auto-update' utility that scans the system to see if any 'Intel related update' is required: Intel® Driver Update Utility
You may also refer to the steps below that will help you to locate and install apt drivers for your system (May help in future, if needed):
Click How to Use the Drivers and Downloads Website > Refer to step 4 (How to Download and Install a Driver?) in this article for detailed steps on installing a driver from 'Dell Support Website'. You may find this video also useful: http://www.dell.com/support/troubles...KRqhc3yz2eSU7i
Hope this helps. Do reply if you have any further questions.
The chipset drivers are your motherboard drivers
Are you referring to Network, Audio , and such ?
If I could get the service tag number I could get you the correct drivers for your machine .
Open up a command prompt by clicking on and typing CMD inside the search box once the command prompt window opens up type the command that's on the bottom and press ENTER key .
Code:wmic bios get serialnumber
Dr8n5v1
Here is the link
Drivers & Downloads | Dell US
Under Operating System choose your version and click on the down arrow and choose the most recent driver . Then click download file and choose single file
Click on this LINK
Conexant HD Audio
Download
Added :
The drivers should extract to their own folders inside C:\drivers ( I think ) save folder in a safe place just incase you need to reinstall the drivers .
