Do I need this driver update?

    Hey,
I'm running Windows 7 X64 machine and my graphics card is AMD ATI Radeon HD 5450 and I'm using the latest driver for it (v13.1). I was wondering what this update (shown in screenshot below) might be and whether it's useful for me or just ignore it?.
    Thanks

Well, my rule of thumb is , "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Are you noticing anything wrong? If not...... I'd pass. You could "search it", see what it offers and make a decision based on that and your particular machine. OR ,lol, you could install it and see if it messes up your machine/system. Rollback if so.

Up to you but unless it addressed something specific to my machine I wouldn't.

+1 Indy I don't ever remember seeing that one when I had that card and the only place I would be downloading the driver and software for that would be from ATi - Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD not from a Windows update.

As said magood if aint broke...... but in the event of a problem do as above:)

If indeed you have these drivers installed...

    AMD Catalyst

And you have rerun windows update, that should not be showing up.

If it persists, you could hide the update, but as I stated, it should not keep showing up.

Check it`s size, 39.7 MB against the size of just the driver in the Catalyst software suite.

Thanks a lot for your feedback :)
YEA, I believe it shouldn't be showing up since I'm using the latest catalyst driver but for some reason it shows up. MAY BE because I don't always opt to install the "Catalyst Manager" and the "SDK" components of the driver (I uncheck their boxes so that they don't install) so that's why Windows believe I need to update or something (I'm guessing at this point)

Yep AddRam I was going to suggest that but it seemed to me that it was already installed and why not use the thing when you have it as I had the same problem with my Sandy Bridge and got a new monitor on it. I cannot remember who put me onto it but I rescaled the screen and all came good.
But there again I didn't have any problems around Windows updates.
For my money I would leave it alone in case it clagged it up.

As of now I have gone over to NVidia and find they are far less problematical.
