Not needed Turbo Boost Technology Driver for Intel 2nd Generation i7?
Hello all this's my second post for help on this site, while looking around the net for more unnecessary driver's to disable, I stumbled across something interesting.
The topic relate's to the I/i series processor's and it's turbo boost driver, when reading the thread I noticed one of the commenters saying "Newer I series processors do not need the TB driver, its built into the processor now.", that really piqued my interest, seeing as I use one these I/i series processor's on my laptop and always figured that the Turbo Boost Technology Driver would be a necessary software component to have so my processor would be able to initiate it's "safe overclocking" function that made me decide to purchase a machine with a "I" processor in the first place.
The commenter also claimed that the 2nd Generation i7 series for sure wouldn't need to utilize the driver for turbo boost to work anyway. I just happened to be using one of the second gen i7 processor's and was wondering if I could disable the aforementioned driver and still utilize "turbo boost" as apparently turbo boost was already "Built In" to my processor, and doe's not require Intel(R) Turbo Boost Driver to function, typing this just make's me dubious and confused about the commenters claim, doesn't "Built-In" refer to the driver itself, or was the commenter getting at something else?
This's the link to the webpage I found the info on; What is the "Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver" for? - Super User
If anyone can help me on this, I would really appreciate it.
Thank You in Advance
