    unsigned drivers

Im trying to install a game in win 7 but it involves installing what the game calls 'protected files'. These are apparently unsigned drivers that Win 7 will not install. I have installed this game in win xp in the past without any problems but it seems this is yet another windows security improvement in win 7. Does anyone know of a way around this

Does it provide a button that says "Install anyway"?

No options at all. Just a message that windows cannot install files. I believe its a win security feature that prevents users from installing unsigned files...but there has to be a way round it

You can turn off driver signature enforcement temporarily using the advanced boot options (F8). However, that'd need to be done at every boot.

I wonder where those "protected files" originated. There are apparently several levels of signing. Beta drivers (I frequently test beta graphics drivers) require you to click a permission button when you install them. I've also been able to install graphics drivers with modified .inf files.

WIn7 X64 is supposed to be more finicky about unsigned drivers than the 32 bit version. You can't install them at all if driver signing enforcement is on.
