    [QUESTION] Gigabyte Drivers & Utilities

Lets straight to the point, I have GA-Z77-D3H mobo and just freshly reinstall my Windows 7. Browse through the Gigabyte website and found tons of drivers and utilities to be downloaded and installed. I wonder WHICH drivers and utilities are needed and not junk in other word.

As I know EasyTune is a junk, whatelse? Thank you in advance.

(Please do choose Windows 7 64bit)
    Utilities - GIGABYTE - Motherboard - GA-Z77-D3H (rev. 1.1)

    Drivers - GIGABYTE - Motherboard - GA-Z77-D3H (rev. 1.1)

You should install all the available updated drivers.

The utilities as you mentioned, tend to be a bit flaky, so I never install them, especially if I'm unlikely to use them. The only exception to this is the @BIOS utility to update my BIOS - thats is completely rock solid if used correctly

When I installed Win 7, I used the drivers from the Gigabyte supplied CD. Everything works. As Golden notes, avoid most of the utilities. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X UD5H motherboard.

Same way when I installed Win 8 (I have a dual boot with separate SSD drives), I used the Win 7 drivers from the Gigabyte supplied CD.

There are no updated drivers listed on the Gigabyte site (except a BIOS update) for my motherboard. However I did find updated chipset and Intel NIC drivers on the Intel site.

Thank you for the both replies.

I wonder if I install all of them, it's up to date drivers - which is newer than the CD provided, will the newer drivers unstable and cause crashes?

If the drivers are listed as 'BETA' I would be more cautious, otherwise its good practice to keep them updated with the very latest.

    Thank you for the reply.

I wonder in your very own opinion, I own SSD and do you think Intel RST is actually needed? Will it affects performance? I had BSOD from it before in my last HDD.

I have the same motherboard as yourself and it took me a while to realise that the software shipped with it is junk as in DO NOT anything from the CD!

The EasyTune is garbage and will cause BSOD's by the score PLUS you cannot completely delete it, it requires a fresh install (as I found to my own cost).

All the other software is just bloatware that you do not need. Once I realised this I have had no problems at all and my system is running error free.

    Hi there Andy,

I didn't install anything from the CD and also installed nothing about the Gigabyte utilities. I only install all the drivers available on their support page, only drivers, am I doing it right?

    Thanks a lot.
