My computer keeps crashing - driver problems?

Okay, so over the past few months I have been having issues with my laptop. It happens almost every week and has become very annoying as I don't have any idea about how to deal with it. What happens, is that my screen will suddenly blank and just go completely black, then after about 15 seconds the screen turns back on but the programmes which I had open previously don't work. After this happens I have to restart my computer as it crashes within about 30 seconds of the screen turning back on. This has got to the point where it is starting to worry me as I fear I may lose important work which I wont be able to recover very easily. I think this is due to my driver for my screen but I am unsure. If anyone could help I would be very thankful. Is there anyway of me being able to upload my minidump file for you to look over?

    Thanks :)

Hello Awkwardly and welcome to Seven Forums.

This tutorial covers BSOD posting instructions. Once you have your computer configured you'll be able to post your dump files for analysis.

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Another built-in Windows 7 tool is Driver Verifier. It runs in the background and tests your installed drivers for issues. If a driver problem is found it will generate a BSOD and a corresponding dump file.

After following the driver update instructions, I'd also check for any damaged or corrupt system files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately reboot the computer after each scan.

Okay, when I try to update the driver for the first one using the automatic update thing to find my hardware, it says it cannot locate my OS, so I cannot update the drivers :/ also it doesnt say there are any updates for the last two drivers through the Windows Update and I have looked for the updated drivers on microsofts website and it says mine are the latest. What should I do?
