Yeah, I guess the unplugging workaround will have to suffice for now. I emailed Tascam back in september asking if they were going to release Win7 drivers, but at that time they had no plans to, so this might be as good as it gets.

    Blue Screen

    hey guys.

i've tried installing a few different drivers for this with different compatibility settings but i keep having a weird problem:

the device works fine but when i open the control panel for it, i get a blue screen.

    any ideas?

I had come across that issue once, but then it never happened again. Are you seeing it consistently with the compatibility settings unchanged?

hello, i am trying to install my us-122 on windows 7.
that compatibility method seem to work for me but just as it s about to finish i get this.

Cannot update the driver when fw-1884 is disconnected or not powered.

to update the driver, find the fw-1884 in the windows device manager, right click and choose "update driver" specify 'install from a specific location' and choose the /programfiles/fm1884_install foler

see the readme.txt file in the cd-rom for details
    does this look normal?
if i follow those steps should everything work out?
any help would be appreciated as i have no idea what im doing, its all very confusing to be honest.

Not sure what to tell you, I don't know where fw-1884 is coming from. I don't think it's related to the Tascam. Maybe another device conflicting possibly?

    Tascam US-122L issues

Shot in the dark, but this I've tried everything and everywhere and this forum is a last resort, before I think about buying new hardware.

I am using a Tascam us-122 with Windows 7, Cakewalk Home Studio Sonar 7, rewired to Reason.

And it's giving me a hell of a time. I've been using the same set up (except Windows Vista and Home Studio 2004, until recently) for years and it has worked perfectly. Basically, things work fine until spontaneously, when either recording or having the input echo on, it will feedback. It's as though it suddenly changes the input to it's output and then feeds back. Sometimes it goes as far as to just recording what the computer is playing, and ignoring the input altogether. This change will literally happen with no changes in settings being made - sometimes even mid-recording.

[note that this isn't your standard mic feedback squeal - it's more robotic, hard to explain]

This happens most often when ReWired to Reason. I have the most recent drivers for everything.

Has this happened to ANYBODY?! ANY ideas?

Could someone make a script to automate removing of US-122 and then shutdown?

Or is only way to physically disconnect that cable..?

    usb port

thanks guys for posting the solution on how to deal with the missing driver. I successfully installed Us122 with the US122_Win_3.40f in Vista mode on laptop with windows 7 64 bit as outlined above.

The only other issue I had was that after installation the US122 sound card did not work, i.e. was not recognized and the green light did not go on. I noticed some other posts on other forum stating the same problem. Someone talked about some issue with some newer USB port/chip not being able to support the US122 power draw etc, I am not into PC so don't ask me for details. Anyway in an act of desperation I took my 4-plug external multi USB hub and plugged in between laptop and US122 - and the bloody thing started to work!!

Did some recording since then and everything works fine so far (except for the crashing when shutting down...)

Just throwing this out here in case someone else should have the same problem after driver installation - it could be related to the USB port.
