I went on today for my dv4 and saw that there are 2 Windows 7 drivers for my PC. Glad to see HP finally putting them out

At the moment, they are starting the process to publish Win7 drivers. Those published now are not genuine Win7 drivers (flash BIOS and LightScribe), they are exectly the same than offered for Vista.
Publishing them now only means they are the only ones at the moment HP guarantees are also working with Win7.

In any case, i hope they keep bringing them out, because I still cant get my multimedia remote to work...

This could be your lucky day: for you Pavilion dv4t they published a brand new ENE CIR receiver driver today.
Install it and your remote should work.

My problem is that the actual IR receiver works, but the only thing it can do is turn the computer on, all the other functions do not work... Have any ideas?

So you tried this new driver? Other than that, I have no ideas. Sorry. Mine works perfectly, both the small credit card size and the real one.

Installed the new driver and the remote works! BTW HP posted 2 more drivers for my laptop in these past couple of hours. Seems like they're hard at work!

Nice to hear your remote works. For my laptops, all either Pavilion or HDX series, only drivers in Win7 section are those Vista drivers that work also with Seven.
Main thing is, they have started.

One thing though. In the device manager there is is an Unknown Device under the "Other Devices" tab. The location is on the PCI bus, and the hardware ID is ACPI/HPQ0004. I google it and saw that it was the some HP Protection Module or something... Any idea?
