How do I fix errror "USB Device Unrecognizable"

    Hey!
I was facing a problem recently, about my USB drivers. My USB Joystick is always being picked up as an unknown device and that it isn't recognizable and my computer doesn't try to even search another driver online. I tried doing it manually but it didn't work.
I had a another computer before buying this one where the joystick was working perfectly.
I would like to know how to fix this or make it work, Please?
I don't know which information might help so this is some information about my computer and joystick.

    Current device status :
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

    Computer :
    Laptop, Lenovo ideapad Z580
    RAM : 6GB
    HDD : 750 GB
    Processor : Intel Core i7 3612QM
    2.1 GHz
    Windows Home Premium 64 bit.

    Joystick
All I know was that it would show up as "Generic USB Joystick" on my old Computer.

    Thanks in Advance!

    drivers

    Hi Angelrina,
Have you still got your old comp, if so set it up again and and go
ControlPanel>DeviceManager>GenericUSBJoystick>Rightclick>properties>driver>driverdetails, which will show you the 32bit drivers, see thumbnail.
search on your new comp for the equivelent 64bit.
But it might not be supported.

Thank you for your reply! I tried this and then it turned out that the Joystick is also showing up as an unknown device on the other computer so I think the Joystick was damaged somehow and i might need a new one.

hi angelrina, you didnt mention the make or model of your joystick,
i recomend a xbox 360 gamepad if you are going to replace it.
all "games for windows" recognise the gamepad .
and as they are both microsoft there are no compatibility issues.
