psmounterex.sys needed. Bugchecks in Macrium Reflect

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

When I try to browse an image backup with Macrium Reflect, psmounterex.sys bugchecks.
It would be nice if I could restore a backed-up copy of psmounterex.sys, in case the one on the system is corrupted. But I can't restore, because Macrium needs psmounterex.sys. Catch 22.

Any thoughts on where I can get a copy of psmounterex.sys?

Welcome to Seven Forums plugger. Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but have you tried reinstalling Macrium? It would install the driver again and all may be well after. Your images would still work assuming they were created correctly.

Do you show the psmounterex.sys in c:\windows\system32\drivers?

Your current install of Macrium Reflect won't run?

Your problem sounds like a question taken from a certification exam, very confusing wording, might want to rephrase it.

Doesn't seem like a catch 22, atm.

There is a book being sold on ebay for $70 on how to use Macrium Reflect, what?
Made me laugh, went searching for info, mentions Wikipedia articles on the book cover and info.

To A Guy:

Thanks!

My backup files have two versions of psmounterex. Something changed in March.

Re-installing Macrium does indeed seem the thing to do, and presumably it would have worked, since it would have brought in an old version of psmounterex.

The Windows Driver Verifier caught psmounterex trying to corrupt memory.

Macrium suggested excluding psmounterex from Windows Driver Verifier. This allows Macrium to run, presumably doing awful things, but no one notices.

Macrium Reflect.
Hi. I have a Belkin USB Network HUB F5L009, that I have set up on 2 computers. I shall drive a 2TB SATA HDD for backup, and I use Macrium Reflect for it. The backup works ok, nor problems. I then would try a restore.
