    HP 3D Driveguard

HP released it's version of this software for win7 but I get the same problem I faced before. When I start up, chkdisk attempts to run. If I try to skip it by pressing a key it follows the countdown then freezes. If I just let it sit it starts up normally but chkdisk will not run. (Even normally scheduled checks fail.)

I'm doing a system restore and hoping that it didn't corrupt my disk (again)

Does anyone know of a fix or have you had the same trouble

    (I'm on a DV3510nr with x64 bit win7)

I would have recommended that you tried the chkdsk program in 7 first ( start menu type in chads in the run box) before I used a third party program. As 7 isn't released to the public yet OEM companies are still scrambling to update their drivers as well as software so eliminating a problem with their software at this time is IMO not realistic. I'd also think it appropriate to ask where you obtained the ISO from and if you burned it at the slowest speed 4 x recommended. And what build # your using. Good luck and I hope the system restore helps. Welcome to seven forums. Fabe

Thanks for the reply. My build is from tech-net. Build #7600. I also ran the ISO from clonedrive rather than burning it.

Disabling the drive protection and allowing chkdisk to run allowed me to do a system restore. (You cannot restore corrupted drives). Not sure what else to do but wait for an update.
