USB 3.0 Driver for MSI Laptop

Hello. When I have USB 3.0 Seagate external hard drives but I do not get the USB 3.0 Speeds. When i try to install the driver, it always go to a BSOD. I don't know why. My laptop is from Korea and I cannot find the similar model with the other versions.

    This is my notebook: ±ÕÇüÀâÈù ¼º´ÉÀÇ °í±ÞÇü ³ëÆ®ºÏ, MSI A617A-i5 Faust MX - ³ëÆ®Æ÷·³

The difference from the notebook in the link is:

    CPU: Intel Core i5-3230M
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GT645M 2GB DDR3 and Intel HD Graphics 4000
    RAM: 4GB DDR3

I got it from a promo that's why I had upgraded parts.

Some also said that it is similar to the MSI CX70 but I'm not sure with that.

I wasn't able to use the CD included in my laptop because this laptop doesn't have any CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. So I just manually downloaded the drivers for my other components.

When I check the "USB Controllers" in Device Manager, "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller" is properly installed.

I really want to utilize the speed of USB 3.0 since USB 2.0 only gives me 30 mb/s of transfer speed.

Here are some additional pictures for Info:

I can also post here the Memory Dumps if you want. I just forgot how to access them.

Hi there ... Its good to see that you got Windows 7 Home Installed :) ... Though you continue to have some problems ... As you cant seem to get the Drivers any where ... Might i suggest that you use some one elses computer to get your Drivers from the CD ... Then Install them on a flash stick .... Thats if any of your usb ports are working ... I know they used to work though.. They are not that expensive ... The reason why i say this is because we seem to have tried every thing in the past with no avail

Did you install Win7? Is the the OS which came with the PC, as shown on the COA sticker which should be attached if it was shipped with Win7? Nothing is said about this.

If so then compare the steps you followed to these which will yield and maintain a perfect install: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

So did your USB drivers come in via Windows Updates after enabling Device Installation Settings If not, uninstall USB 3.0 driver in Device Manager including software and then run Windows Updates again repeatedly with reboots.

Do other USB storage devices have problems with USB3 or only the one. If so try moving the data off of it to wipe it with Diskpart Clean Command then repartition it Logical NTFS. If you can't do this then at least run a full Disk Check.

OP which driver BSOD's? Yet Device Manager is showing a working 3.0 controller?

Other thing I can think of, cable from the 3.0 drive not a 3.0 cable, or an extension that isn't 3.0 rated?
Or maybe a SATA III drive in an enclosure that is not USB 3.0.

    Plus:
Wondering why only 1 stick of RAM, no dual channel for you.

I'm currently using Driver Magician but it does not detect any update-able driver.

I re-installed my USB 3.0 using the installation file included in the CD. My friend's laptop has a CD-ROM so I copied from there since my laptop doesn't have any CD-ROM.

I'm sure that my external hard drives are USB 3.0. I already tried it with my friend's desktop PC which has USB 3.0 ports and it worked.

Note: I attached the memory dumps.

See if there is a USB 3.0 driver on the mobo's Support Downloads webpage.

I already tried checking MSI's site but the installers are giving me BSODs.

Are you using the correct 32- or 64-bit version for Win7?

I gave you a series of steps and questions to which you only replied to one earlier. Is this the original factory preinstalled Win7? If so it is a corrupt install to begin with which no tech enthusiast would run, so I would do the vastly superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Pay close attention to how drivers are handled in Win7.

This is not an OEM. My laptop came with just FREE DOS so I had to install Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit by myself.

OK. If the correct bit version drivers provided on the PC's Support Downloads webpage will not install then uninstall the ones you have in Device Manager and repeatedly run Windows Updates, after enabling Option 3 here: Device Installation Settings. Install all Important and Optional updates and look for the driver to come in.
