It's working, but not as we know it!

    HP Pavilion Laptop model tx1340a

I got my copy of windows 7 delivered on 20th Oct. Installation went quite well, clean install on a new HDD, but (there's always a but) it's telling me that I need a coprocessor driver.
HP have been good and helped with some other drive problems, however they have not been able to help with this.
Another problem which may or may not be relevant is the thing keeps coming up with a windows error sound without any visable reason.

Can anybody out there please help me?

Hi Colsie and welcome to the forums..

If you have the latest driver for your co processor, then I wouldn't be overly concerned unless you start getting BSOD related crashes...

As far as getting a warning sound without any warning, I just disable all system sounds immediately so that sort of thing doesn't really effect me...

You could always download and install the Vista chipset drivers for your laptop (32 or 64 bit, depending on your version).

Many thanks for the quick reply's.

I have just put my old HDD in a caddy and done a search for the driver on the old (Vista OS) (It's hard to say that word). It has found one and is now telling me that everything is now OK. I hope this one isn't going to lie to me like the last one did. Still making exclamation noises and device manager is flashing on and off. I feel a headach coming on.
