    Realtek AC97 Drivers Not installing

So i installed windows 7 late last night (from xp Pro) and everything seemed to work fine but these audio drivers (seems to be a common enough issue as far as i can tell)

I've downloaded or installed 3 versions of the drivers. The ones that came with the MotherBoard(Abit IL9 Pro) disc, but it gives me an "error -001"

Second I located these "Windows 7 and vista drivers" from their site showing versions 6505 and 6503 - Both of these gets stuck on a screen that says "These drivers cannot be installed because they are no digitally signed" And it just loops when i try clicking on "install anyway."

Last i tried running them from the run menu with string attached to the end (silent install i think it was called) same digitally signed message again.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks much.

Try inserting the original install disc into the drive then click open in new window. Search for the setup.exe file right click on it> then properties> then compatibility>then check the box run in compatibility mode> check XP> install under administrator. This may not work but has in other instances. Fabe

hi, i have the same problem. i couldn't install the realtek AC97 audio drivers for Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. i tried to install compatibility with vista and xp as a administrator but there is no result.

now i can hear some sounds but when i try to open some video formats with media player or other programs and also in games i cant hear any sounds. i searched on google that there are too many people having problem with this audio drivers, is there any solution of this problem? thanks..

What I suggest (being a little lazy right now) is to use the search function. Realtek AC 97 and you'll find a bunch of threads on this. One of them has to help y'all. (edit) I wanted to commend you both on having your specs filled out before your first post. Way to get started. Fabe

Ya figured getting the spec on there was the startup process. And ive been reading these forums all day, finally got home to try some stuff, but no luck so far. just tried the executible file off of the site instead of the zip file. wish me luck
