Unfotunately, these drivers also didn't work on my Gateway 4540 laptop. I think the reason is that these are XP drivers and they just won't work under Win7. It seems unreasonable that no one is going to support this chipset with either Win7 or Vista drivers. The drivers did install, but they are not active as they report an error. The system defaults to the Standard VGA drivers that came with the Win7 Beta.

no, these drivers are actually from Windows Vista, as being ported from DriveMax, i assume. They are XDDM so yes in a way they are XP drivers, but hypothetically, they should work under Windows 7 since it is built off of Windows Vista. I am currently using those drivers and i have native resolution and full acceleration

I'm in agreement w/ JBPapaSim. They just don't work on my Fujitsu. I've had exactly the same experience as has he.

And, yes, it really is a shame that so many people may loose out on Win 7 with perfectly good (and sometimes, great) hardware because we cannot get a GSM845/855 driver that will give native resolution.

I have downloaded the XP version from Intel, extracted it with winrar, and then I went to Device Manager, right-clicked my VGA card, selected Update Driver, and I manully pointed to the extracted location.

    Worked just fine...

Oh, and make sure you have set the maximum available memory usage for the vga in your BIOS.

Must be a difference in Chip Sets. Been there, done that! This driver does not work for the Fujitsu 7010D.

Ditto -just tried this on my Toshiba Tecra II. Still no joy.

It appears to work, then after a few seconds, it will flicker the screen then say "Your device is ready to use". Then it hows the same old same old.

I really wish there was a way around this.

this question is directed to anyone who actually has the driver installed, but do you notice the system is completely frozen when you try to use Aero Snap while running a video in WMP or even VLC player? i thought microsoft fixed this issue. the strange part is that when i first installed Win 7 (build 7048), it seemed as though it was fixed, not all of a sudden it does that. but if i do it to any other window that isn't running a video, it does what it supposed to do.

    any thoughts?
