Is there any way to make TV2000XP RM to work on Windows 7 64-bit Build 7600 ?
Drivers for Global and Expert got out but that's another chipset. RM is BT878. If anyone knows how to make this thing started, well, please share that with us

I had the same Conextant BT878 chip in a Hauppauge PVR150 card and upgraded. But I never tried to install the drivers in compatibility mode. You might want to give it a try. Compatibility Mode. You can download the driver to your desktop extract if needed and stop. Then find the setup.exe file.click on it> properties>compatibility,check the box run in compatibility mode>drop down menu select Xp. go to device manager select device>update driver>search for myself>have disk>then enter the location of the file and install. Also have this problem here, probably my only HW obstacle to Win7.
Too bad the link: Windows 7 drivers for Leadtek TV cards does not have a 64-bit driver for TV2000 XP (Deluxe / FM / RM). Somehow I don't think Leadtek will provide 64-bit support for TV2000 XP (Deluxe / FM / RM) from the look of that table in the link.
This link: TV-Cards.com / Winfast 2000 XP RM Vista x64 drivers? explains that its because Conexant has no BT878 x64 driver and it has links to some unofficial 64-bit driver for BT878.
But that thread is dated 2007.
Theres a unofficial probably 32-bit BT878 driver here:

I had a Hauppauge winfast Pvr 150 with a Conextant BT878 chip. I just gave up on it and bought a Avermedia hybrid TV bravo PCi-e card. About 70.00. It worked out better for me anyway since the Hauppauge fit between my 2 9800gt's and restricted airflow to 1 of the cards. Now don't get me wrong I'm not recommending this card, especially if you want to use it in a HTPC with full Quam, but for what I use it for it works just fine. Fabe

I too had this problem, but resolved it by renaming the blocked driver. I have now used it successfully for a week with no problems. Here's how; but use this at your own risk (i.e. I have no idea why Microsoft blocked the driver to begin with and there could be a good reason for it).
1. Update drivers for the PVR2000 automatically on Windows 7 64bit. In device manager the Winfast PVR2000 will be blocked.
2. Open C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\pvr2000.inf_amd64_neutral_bf23dd254cab18bc (or similar if your OS drive is not C).
3. Look for three files
- cxavsis (Security Catalog)
- cxavsis.sys (System File)
- pvr2000.inf (Setup Information file)
4. Copy them to a new folder in another location (e.g. C:\Users\testbox\Desktop\win7-PVR2000)
5. Using your NEWLY COPIED files, rename the Security Catalog to a different name; I used cxavsisTIM
6. Rename the cxavsis.sys to the same name (cxavsisTIM.sys)
7. Open the pvr2000.inf file in NOTEPAD and choose REPLACE from the edit menu
- In the 'Find what' area type cxavsis
- In the 'Replace With' area type your new name cxavsisTIM
8. Replace all and SAVE
9. From the Windows 7 device manager, right click and choose 'update driver'
10. Select 'Browse my computer for driver software'. NEXT
11. Select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'. NEXT
12. Select 'Have Disk'
13. Navigate to your new drivers (e.g. C:\Users\testbox\Desktop\win7-PVR2000)
14. Install and override any Security prompts about unsigned drivers.
15. Configure your PVR aplication and enjoy

Not sure but is the Winfast TV2000XP compatitble with Winfast PVR2000 drivers?
From the PVR2000.inf, it seems like the PVR2000 is a Cx2388x card not a bt878 card.
Ha, thanks iron2000, You are correct and I have posted on the wrong thread; after looking up this problem everywhere in an attempt to find a correctly modified driver ( i will have to find the correct thread now *grin*).
However, users can still follow the same steps to circumvent blocked drivers for any hardware (with the same risk of epic failure of course!). My solution has been around since at least Windows XP. Unfortunately I don't have the TV2000XP hardware to check for you guys or the drivers to compare the inf's.
BTW - Try the new drivers for that card that were released last month (includes win7 64bit, but doesn't tell me which chip) http://www.leadtek.com/eng/support/search.asp?keyword=TV2000XP
OR, back-up your stuff, alter the inf's, rename the blocked drivers, install from a specified location and cross your fingers. I'll cross mine for you too.
