    Lite-On DH-20A4P-04 issues

I am trying to install Windows 7 64 bit from XP SP3, and I get to the ready to install page and I get an error that says it needs DVD/CD drive drivers. I could not find any for this and I can't move forward unless I find them. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. DH-20A4P-04 is the model number again.

I have an external Hard drive if I can use that, but if I do this, doesn't that mean that after I install Windows 7 that I won't have a working DVD drive because I went around it using the USB drive instead?

No not necessarily.Windows 7 through the install should load a driver for the drive.Have you made sure that the drive cable is plugged in and it is set to the proper cable selection? I realize this is a no brainer but had to ask.

Win7 usually finds most new drivers on the first couple of automatic updates over the internet
