    ShwiconXP9106 Load configuration file failed

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Original OS installed on system – OEM

Since Sunday I've found that if leave my computer unattended for a time (usually about an hour) I return to find either a bunch of error messages or a black screen with 'Reboot and Select proper Boot device or insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key' displays.

Some of the error messages include:-
    ShwiconXP9106
    Load configuration file failed.

    ‘Dropbox.exe - Application Error.
The instruction at 0x0000000067DB9A2A reference memory at 0x0000000067DB9A2A. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc000000e. Click Ok to terminate the program. ‘

The computer then freezes up and I have to turn off the power button.

I thought this might have been something to do with dropbox so I disabled dropbox from loading at start up.

I also system restored to a time before the problem.

I then used my computer without any problem but as soon as I left it unattended the ShwiconXP9106 error returned.

I also received the following mesage:-

StageRemote Service.exe Application Error. ‘The instruction at 0x01211523 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read’.

I'm not sure what has caused this error or how I can fix it and would be grateful for any help of advice.

    Many thanks,

    Claire

Many thanks for your reply Gandalf. My computer was throwing up loads of different errors in the end, so I formatted and reinstalled windows and it's now working smoothly (faster than before, so I think it did me a favour!)

    Thanks for replying.
