pci serial port driver not installed on win 7

I'm operating on a desktop intel dq35j0 and clean installed window 7 ultimate.

in device manager two errors appeared
pci serial port driver not installed ( code28)
simple communications controller driver not installed (code 28)
checked hardware id's in device manager as follows
    pc\ven_8086&dev_29b7&subsys_4f4a8086&rev_02 for serial port driver
and the same hardware id for the simple com controller

Ive tried to search these drivers on intel site but get lost as to wher I may find these drivers.

the same issue is a problem on two other pc's after cleaninstall of win 7
1.) is an hp dx2000 nt
here the network controller driver has not installed
    the hardware id is
    pci\ven_0675&dev_1702&subsys_6692&rev_00

    2.) is a hp pavillion dv6 (1125ei) notebook
here an "unknown device" driver not loaded
    the hardware id is
acpi\hpq004 (double zero fout and not thriple zero four)

    can anyone help?

    To download drivers, go here:

Intel Desktop Board DQ35JO - Overview

Click on latest BIOS and driver updates, then select your operating system and download the drivers you want. I'd start with the chipset drivers.

    kegobeer thanks for input.

still unresolved on the intel dq35jo.

however resolved the dx2000 nt, this was an old isdn card still on the motherboard. once physically removed, the system resolved.

the hp pavillion was the hp hard drive protect smart software needs to be reinstalledafter win 7 instalation.

still trying to sort out the first problem. i believe it must be with the network drivers as the three pc's see each other in network sharing but the dq35jo wont allow the others to look into it's files in network sharing.
if one clicks on "see full map" they all show up but click on the specific pc wont let you in, yet the other 2 pc's give access

What first problem? Are you referring to another thread you started, or is this perhaps the pci serial port driver not installed ( code28) issue?

The pci\ven_8086&dev_29b7&subsys_4f4a8086 hardware id should be Intel(R) Active Management Technology - SOL. This should be something that the chipset and/or system driver software from the vendor should address. Did you download and install all of the Windows 7 drivers for your motherboard?

Do you have Windows 7 x86 or x64?

If you are unsure about all of the drivers, Intel has a driver tool that scans your system. I don't know if it works under Windows 7, but you could try it.

    Intel® Driver Update Utility

    yep that the one
down loaded all the updates I could find starting with the chipset but the problem still remains
however when downloading the updated driver on intel 82566dm 2 gig network connector a window requiring tick boxes to be filled, had one empty and each time I tried to fill it in a warning appeared " Microsoft SNMP connections not installed" it then says when SNMP is installed to rerun the driver update. Have tried to find these but can only find for windows nt

Serial over LAN seems completely unnecessary. Is there a setting for it in your BIOS? See if this Intel document helps:

There is a Vista version of the AMT software available for your board. You could download it and install it in Vista compatibility mode. Maybe that will fix things.

    Thanks Kegobeer

    It all finally worked!!

    Solution was as follows;
1.) update the bios version 1109 (even though it does not list windows7 as operating system)
2.) then update the amt - sol drivers for matching chipset in vista 32 in compatibility mode.
