Computer doesn't start up after installing video driver

    Hi,
I've just installed Win7 Ultimate on my laptop Sony Vaio. I have a problem with my video driver.
    I downloaded the driver from http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl mdl=VPCEH14FM&LOC=3#/downloadTab

When I launch the installation process, it says "successfully installed" and I need to restart my computer. When I do so, the screen is stuck at the windows 7 logo screen.
Now, in device manager, on "Display adapters", I have "standard vga graphics adapter" though I should have " intel HD graphics 3000" or "Intel HD graphics family".

If you have a clue of what causes this, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help and your time

    Hi Rick007.

Boot into Safe Mode and uninstall the display driver from the Device manager.

    1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
    2. It will open the "computer management" window.
    3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
    4. Expand "Display Adapters" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
    5. Select the item under it, right click, uninstall.
    6. Now restart the computer.

Then download and install it from intel; for 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 3000/2000 .

    Let us know the results.

    Hi Arc,
Thanks for the advice but unfortunately it didn't work. I did exactly what you told me:
1/boot in safe mode, uninstall the display driver then restart the computer
    2/download and install ...
The installation was successful but when my computer restarts, it is stuck at the win7 logo screen. By the way, the vga display driver seems to install automatically.
If you have more clues, please let me know.

Do it again? In another order?

First download the driver (you have saved the installer I guess).
Then disconnect internet (to prevent the auto installation).
    Uninstall the driver.
    Restart.
    Installed the downloaded driver.

If still it is the same, it is a matter to be worried. Because the graphics chip is onboard, a motherboard element. And usually laptops use OEM licenses which are tied with the motherboard. So if it is again a failure, it would be the best to contract with sony servicing.
