Another option is the try to install the software from the Safe mode. Download the software and save it to your Desktop, then reboot into the Safe mode before trying to install the software. Booting using the Safe mode blocks third party programs and used MS basic drivers. It is worth a try.
I tried safe boot. But the problem is , when installation starts print spooler service should be in started position. But i could not make it. It returned error 1038. This service is automatic by default. When i normal boot the pc, this service is automatically started. So, i could not try install this software in safe mode
Sorry, hadn't thought of that. Let me think on this a bit. My HP printer never had this problem.
HP Print Software Patch When Upgrading Vista to Windows 7 - HP Deskjet D1368 Printer | HP® Support
This patch gives me read error, with blank notebook, but when i close it, it says that you have to reboot to have the effect or some thing to that effect
Hi, First i tried installation without any patch. Subsequently i clicked trouble shoot to fix the problem, There this patch was given as update. HP does not take care for the older printers i suppose,
It is an exe file. It is a patch file
In post #5 you referenced a batch file. A batch file is usually written in text. Perhaps that was a typo. No harm done.
If you really want to resolve this issue, I suggest installing the FULL Windows 7 Installation DVD. If HP can't or won't explain why the software errors, then that is the only recourse I can think of.
