Error when installing HP officejet 8500 wireless printer software

This is the message. I was only able to do a control-c to copy and saved it to word.

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Did you check with HP? Does the HP software show up in Programs and Features list from the control panel? If it does, right click on it and see if it has an Update option.

This sometimes occurs due to permissions or interference from other programs, especially AV software. Try disabling your AV and running the install as administrator (Right click the install and choose Run as Administrator.)

No Hp software listed in control panel uninstall. Hp update tries to install all the software instead of just an update. When this software goes to install is when I get the error. Tried all the other suggestions that you mentioned before I posted my problem including calling HP for help.Printer out of warranty and they refused to help.

Is the PC (Windows) up to date? What are you using to install the drivers and software? An old DVD?

Try downloading a new install package from HERE. You need the exact model number, including suffix.

My Pc is up to date. I tried using a dvd that came with the printer, a dvd I ordered from HP and the software I downloaded from HP support. I started having this problem with the printer after a windows update. I called HP support and they recommended unistalling the Hp printer software and then reinstalling it. After being unable to reinstall the software I again called HP support but because the printer was out of warranty they said that they couldn't help any further. The printer worked(s) fine and I don't want to buy a new one if it's only becuse of software that I can't use it. Who's to say I won't have the same problem trying to install software for a new printer?

Let's start with a System File Checker. Take note that you must run it as administrator and may have to run the SFC command multiple times with a reboot after each run. Report back any console messages

I tried sfc but with no luck. Someone told me that my problem is with Visual Studio. The error mentions C++ runtime error if that is any hint. I never installed nor ever used Visual Studio so I don't know what it even is. I looked in Control Panel Programs and it showed that I have installed Microsoft Visual Studio C ++ 2005 redistributable twice, same with (x64) on end of name, twice, Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 2008 Redistrubitable (x64) twice, same with (x86) three times, Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable once, x86 Redistrubtable once, and x86 Runtime once. If it's visual studio promblem I don't know which one for sure but my guess is it would be the x86 runtime one. I'm leary of deleting it since I don't know what it's for or how to reinstall it. Thanks.

If I can put in my two cents worth here.

HP software installs usually require that the printer not be connected to the PC until told to. Did you comply with their instructions?

I know that, but the install software never installs. It starts to but stops with a C++ runtime error. Has nothing to do with the printer hooked up or not.

Can you post an image of the error message?

Edit: Sorry I see the info now.
