DPC latency issue (audio lag)
Hi,
I've recently started noticing significant audio issues (lag, stuttering, static) when browsing internet, both on chrome and firefox, win7 64. It occurs when the browser is loading new content. After some googling, I've found out it is most likely related to DPC latency caused by some driver (DPC latency check proved that theory right, at least that I've had issues with DPC latency).
The latency checker results (red spikes are me opening new site like reddit, facebook, etc, in a new tab):
After running Latency Monitor program for about half a minute while browsing, I've got the following results:
cm11264 is a driver for my external audio card Xonar U1's chip, and I can't find anywhere in the device manager where I could update it, nor any corresponding driver on the manufacturers homepage (USB Audio,PCIe audio,USB audio ic,USB sound chip--C-Media Electronics, Inc.).
Even with the audio card disconnected and uninstalled, the latency checker shows serious spikes and the issue remains. I've also noticed few dozens hard pagefaults in chrome while running latency monitor.
At this point, I am stuck. Any ideas whether I am on the right track, and what more I can do to troubleshoot this issue, please? I'm gonna call Asus support regarding the sound card, but I doubt they can help much since I've already got the latest driver from their site, which is 3 years old at this point.
