    Pre-installed drivers W7 stored?

Is there an place in W7 where the pre-installed drivers are stored, so if you want to install the pc/notebook again that you can run the missing drivers or copy a map or something?

    Hi,

Drivers are stored in Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository. Please update your system specs with your notepad model no:. You can also download the drivers from your laptop's manufacturer's website.

If you install a notebook again then always drivers missing under the tab "Other Devices" like an ethernet controller. Can you then copy the FileRepository folder so you have all the drivers? Or do you have the missing drivers search on the manufacturer's website and run the .exe programs manually or else?

It is better if you keep the setup files, not the drivers them self.

So copy this folder into the new folder and why is it better? Are the missing drivers also there?

Because they may not be reusable unless you install it with installer.

Get the driver files that you DOWNLOADED from your manufacturer's website and put it on a thumb drive. Then, you can run them from the reinstalled version of Windows in case the internet does not work on the computer. If it does, just get the drivers from the Internet.

So you still have to download all the drivers missing and if someone is hard to find then its a long way. But thats OK, then I close the topic.

Yes, but the setup files not the actual files. And download them before you do a clean install in case the Ethernet/WiFi doesn't work.
