Ancillary function driver fo winsock (adf.sys) Event ID 102

    Hi all

Can someone please help me with a problem.

After recently upgrading my old laptop from Win XP to Windows 7 I see an issue at:
Performance Information and Tools/ Advanced Tools.

Error says: Performance issues : Drivers are causing Windows to start slowly. View Details.

This reports a problem with adf.sys (ancillary functions driver for winsock) which is related to internet connectivity I think but I am having no problems connecting to the internet or anything.

I went to this webpage: Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock - Windows 7 Service - batcmd.com and downloaded the bat file after entering the details Windows 7 Pro SP1 but after running the file the problem is still there.

Was it safe to run this file - could someone with more skills check out the file and make sure I haven't installed something really stupid and also is there a way to get this error to stop reporting.

    Thanks :)

Recommend you delete that file. Drivers should be download from Microsoft or the manufacture's website. You did not provide sufficient VAIO identification to search for support beyond...
    Support : Sony Australia
