    OH! Is your card reader working? or no? I've been under the assumption it's not and that's the SM Bus Controller in question... But the data in your last post suggests it REALLY IS a m/b device

    So, first, let me double check. Is your card reader, in fact, working or not?? We know you still need the Ethernet driver. Are you aware of any other devices not yet working?

    /* EDIT */
    Spefically, in addition to whether the card reader is working how about the Catalyst Control Center for your graphics card? Does CCC seem to be working OK?
    the card reader and ethernet controller were not working...but from the post just before yours i got the drivers for the ethernet controller. So now that is working, but the card reader still is not working. And as far as i can tell the AMD Catalyst Control Center is working as it should.

    the card reader is def a realtek, when installing the drivers from the first link, i get the windows is installing drivers and it finishes and says its good, but the SM bus controller is still not installed, shows no drivers installed under device manager.

    The Driver you are missing points to the Chipset Driver ... I know your USB Ports are working ... I would still try Downloading from the Link below .. Some Manufactures roll the USB Driver in with the Graphics ... I do not think that is your problem ..

    Wow. That SM Bus controller sure is elusive! You can also try using the AMD Autodetect Tool

    Also as to the ACPI device, try installing Toshiba download "Value Added Package" for your machine.
    The ACPI device may be a Toshiba hot key
    ACPI\TOS1901\2&DABA3FF&2 The drivers for this device are not installed.

    should i uninstall the AMD chipset drivers and try them again? i have seriously installed that same package about 5 times, but i never tried removing them first...

    i cannot seem to find the chipset drivers on the toshiba website. all it has listed for AMD is the display drivers and the usb drivers.

    The AMD autodetect wil not work...i tried it several times and it fails to connect to something...ill try it again and give the exact failure that it is having just so i can put up the info.

    if at all possible i wold like to refrain from installing anything that is "manufacturer created" other than drivers themselves...i do not wish to have any extra software (bloatware) on any of my computers. Right now all of my function keys work without any toshiba software, im assuming this is what you are taking about when you mention the hotkey.

    Hi there .. The AMD USB Filter Driver is the Chipset Driver ... Uninstall the old Driver first ... If that does not work try the Link below ...

    took your advice and uninstalled the amd drivers, rebooted, and reinstalled the drivers then rebooted and checked device manager...everything is showing operational. I stick an SD card in the slot...and nothing. Here is the only problem device left

    Not Available ACPI\TOS1901\2&DABA3FF&2 The drivers for this device are not installed.

    OK. Found info HERE. That ACPI/TOS device needs the Toshiba Password Utility you'll find on Toshiba site for your model.
