and how did you guys succeed to downgrade Acer E3-111 to Windows 7? I tried installing Windows 7 but it proved to be impossible - first I had problems with partition style (managed to figured it out), later the system simply froze at animation appearing during "Starting installation" screen. How did you get past it?

And yes, I've been doing it according to the guide posted here on severnforums.com...

Thanks in advance for any clue.

    Hi,

I did the same thing than the others (downgraded my aspire e3 111 to win 7). I used the solution given by Maxie (thanks to him), and it works just fine. Windows Update took care of the drivers and everything is almost great.

I still have a problem : I'm trying to use an external screen and I plug the hdmi cable, but it's like I'm doing nothing. The screen is acting like there is no computer connected and the computer is acting like I didn't plug anything.

Is there a driver I should download somewhere else ? If yes, which one ?

It was working just fine before the the downgrad and the screen and the cable still works perfectly with another computer. That's why I supposed it was a question of driver.

Well, I looked for one, but it's still not working. But since there is no driver available for win 7 on the Asus website, I'm not sure I used the good one.

    HI,

Sorry for the delay, but I didn't have access to the computer this past few days (it's my grilfriend's laptop, not mine).
    I have resolved the problem.
I was trying to use the "Intel Driver Update Utility", which wasn't successful.
So I looked for the driver manually.

I follow those steps : Graphics Drivers — How to get Intel® HD Graphics Drivers for Intel® Pentium® or Celeron® Processors

And finally, I downloaded this driver : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...?DwnldID=24329
In my girlfriend's laptop, the CPU is the N2930 (former codename : Bay Trail), and I Installed win7 x64.

And now it's working perfectly. Thank you, maxie, for your help !

    Hello everybody,

looking for some help. Tried to downgrade Acer E3-111 W8.1 64bit into W7 32bit, but no acceptable drivers could be found/downloaded from official Acer site: Broadcom WLAN and Intel HD graphics.

Broadcom is missing from Acer site.
Intel HD display drivers, tried several from intel download center as well, but all scream "pc doesn't meet the requirements".

    Anyone with similar issue/solution?

    Thanks!
