Serial ATA Controller driver missing win 7 64 bit

    Hi,
Just did a fresh install of Win7 64 bit Home with the help of a Microsoft Tech. The pc seems to be working fine and still doing tons of windows updates.

When I went to check my device manager I saw the yellow icon in Other devices > serial Ata controller. I tried updating the driver and it said one was not available?

I do not know if this would help but my HD is a Hitachi HDT725025VLA380 I also tried uploading drivers for that and it said those were up to date.

Any ideas? Do I need it?

I just plan to load the HD with the OS and software and clone it to a hybrid HD and just keep the 250 as a back up.

Could the hd be causing this?

What I have also done is install my original working HD that had a software burner issue that could not be fixed and checked the device manager > other devices > serial ata controller and it showed that the Silicon Image SIL3132 SATA Link Controller driver was installed on that and was working correctly.

I did try downloading that from my My Dell drivers and it shows that it was installed but did not fix the issue. Also went to the Silicon Image driver site and I could not figure what driver I needed.

    I'm running Win 7 Sp1 64 but home

Thanks but I just figured it out ;-) I popped in my driver cd that came with the pc and got the driver off that.

I just wish my whole day went that simple...
