    Driver Needed for Wireless Internet

    Hello

I recently reformatted my sisters laptop for her, After the format finished i couldnt get it to connect to the internet, after a bit of digging i think its because there is no wireless / internet driver there.

I have been in the device manager and there is no networking drivers installed at all, can anyone tell me which driver i need as i dont know where to find the information.

System is Windows 7 home premium.
Laptop is a Advent modena m100
    Processor Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 900 @2.20GHz 2.19 GHz
System type is 64-bit operating system.

Please if anyone can help that would be brilliant

    thank you

    Hi jaystew,

Just as a rule of thumb, don't buy anything from a no-name/non respected brand. Advent modena doesn't really have an official website, all a google search does is yield people with finding drivers for the laptop ect. That's because since there is no official website, there isn't anywhere to keep posted the drivers for it... So much for OEM support.

Anyways, you have a Realtek 8191SE as a Wi-Fi device, so here are the Windows 7 drivers for it. Realtek

You can muck around in Advent | Modena M100 Blue Edition to see if her specific driver is listed.

    Hi

Ok so im stuck - i downloaded and installed realtrek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-e NIC - the wireless is still not working and not picking up any connections when i click on it and trouble shoot i get the below message

windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. if you have a network adapter, you will need to re-instal the driver.

I ran a driver scan called driver robot and i shows a lot of drivers missing under the network adapter list it shows Real Tek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC and RAS Async Adapter

    thanks

I suppose we have to consider the fact that there may be a problem with the wireless adapter itself.

You used the driver update program? You weren't installing the Wi-Fi device driver properly. You have to open Device Manager, select the Wi-Fi device (thats not working), go into the Driver tab, select Update Driver, Have Disk and then locate the .inf for the driver update. It would then install it properly.
