    BSOD Help

Well I have been using Windows 7 build 7000 x64 for about 2 1/2 weeks, and so far I am liking what I see. Yesterday I saw it give a BSOD for the first time due to tdx.sys. I have been reading here and there and see people blaming this on AV software and network drivers. Before going any farther here is my compute's build:

    CPU: Amd Athlon64 x2 BE-2300
    Mobo: ECS NFORCE6M-A (V2.0)
    Southbridge: NFORCE520LE
    LAN: Realtek 8111B Giga LAN
    Video Card: Radeon HD 4870

AV program currently used: Avast Pro

Ok so I see most people do not have problems with avast so I have counted that out for the most part, but I do see people talking about netwoek drivers and that updating the Broadcom drivers should fix this. I am wondering if installing the Broadcom drivers will help anything im my case, although I do not think they will do anything since I do not use any Broadcom devices

If you would like to see my dump files, please tell me and I will upload them.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shadowers and welcome,

The common theme for this seems to be an AV and it's network sheild/network adapter. I have Avast and have not had this problem. Do you have Superantispyware as well? Maybe try turning off the Avast network shield provider and see if it goes away just to see if it's a possibility.

More people with the problem, that have Norton,Avast.

I do not believe I have superantispyware unless it is part of windows 7. I will try turning off the network shield I guess. Turing off the network shield doesnt kill on access scanning right?

No superantispyware is just a free antispyware program but it causes a BSOD in Win7. If you didn't dl it then you don't have it. Turning off the network shield is just one provider out of 8. It's not the Web sheild or Standard Sheild. It's for blocking network attacks. I wouldn't have it disabled but I suppose you could temp. just to test if the BSODs stopped. But even if it did that would leave you without the NS which wouldn't be safe. Sorry, it's not a solution but a start to find out if it's really Avast causing it.

Well even after disabling both the network shield and the web shield...BSOD

EDIT: I have seemingly found the problem. I had a maped drive between my linux server and my computer via samba. Unmapping it sovled the problem

Glad you found out what it was. Now at least you won't have to chuck Avast pro. I have it too and I really like Avast, been using it for years. I haven't had any real problems with it in 7 yet.
