    Direct X problem and FSX installation

    Hope the Forum can help. After installing Win 7-64 in a new build along with drivers for the new system all is well. The main goal of this computer is to run a high end FSX Flight Sim. After the install of FSX I received a DirectX error noting that I need to reinstall DirectX 9 even though DirectX 11 is installed properly. In attempting to install DirectX 9 Through Microsoft I get the following:
    --------------------
    [11/18/14 13:39:20] module: dxupdate(Mar 31 2006), file: dxupdate.cpp, line: 5640, function: DirectXUpdateInstallPlugIn

    Failed API: SetupIterateCabinet()
    Error: (1224) - The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

    Unable to iterate through D:\DirectX9\Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x64.cab. The file may be damaged.

    My system is an ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 Board with Intel i7-4790K Processer and Muskin Enhanced DDR3 1600 7-8-8-24 Memory (2 x 4GB). GPU is EVGA 780 GTX. Storage is a Samsung EVO 250 MB SSD (W7 installed), a Samsung EVO 500 SSS for FSX and a WD 1TB Black HD for misc.

    After having the problem I did a clean reboot of Windows 7 along with drivers and FSX and get the same answer. Sure would like an answer on this. Anything would help.

    Problem solved entering Bios

    I am not sure how but after going into my Bios and not doing any changes I retried FSX and it loaded requesting the activation code. By going into the bios it may have unlocked something..That's for others to figure out. I'm flying.
