@usefulmody: Acording to your manual these functions are all controlled with hotkeys. Look for drivers for your hotkeys or an application. This seems to be a vrery common problem with Acer and seven . Fabe

there is the launch manager, I have tried different versions but none light up the led. and I don't know of other hotkey drivers that might work, didn't find any.

Hi had the exact same problem. What worked for me was installing the previous version of launch manager (v2.00) technically its the vista version as the Windows 7 version is v3.00 but I found the windows 7 version slow to respond to show the mute icon on the screen when you pressed it and caused the mute LED not to come on at all. It muted the sound but it was very annoying!! this was on my AS3935. To download goto acer support for your laptop and set your OS to vista and it'll give the earlier version in the applications tab. Hope this helps.

    Similar issue

Sorry to drag this one out of the archives.

I was just given an Aspire 5536G as it had a faulty hard drive. I replaced the drive and decided to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The only issues I have are as follows...

    1. The Bluetooth won't remain on - I have to press the button every time to activate it. Is there a way to have this remain on permanently until I choose to switch it off (like every other laptop I have ever owned :))

    2. When I remove the power adapter the system still thinks the adapter is connected, so no switching to a less power hungry setting and win 7 still shows the icon with the power cord and says it is charging. The problem here is, if I switch it off, the blue light to the left of the power button remains lit as well as the charging LED at the front. So I have to remember to remove the battery when I pack it away, otherwise it drains the battery. Is this a windows 7 issue?

I installed all the drivers from the Acer website, so I am not sure if I am missing something or not, if anyone could help, that would be great.

    thanks

    DT
