    Combination of the chipset you gave me, and then getting "Win7 and Server 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program" from realtek.. Ill let you know!

    Still need the wireless... stand by, you sir are a legend regardless what happens next :)

    Some times if you run Windows Updates it might Help ... That would take awhile though

    We have wireless!!!! Again, with your wonderful tip of going to details, hardware ID, I could see it was the atheros. so that has installed now as well.

    I shall now update windows! all down to the chipset by the looks of it.
    Maxie, thank you so much for your help and patience. I am getting some beers down my neck! been a long time since I have done anything with Windows (I am a Cisco man)

    I'm here with the same problem.
    So I've read each page of the thread carefully.
    And I've very hoped to find the solution.
    But nothing. The author got help and he had gone…
    May be a UFO kidnapped him and he didn't get home and couldn't write his answer.

    please start your own thread.
    Your drivers will be different, and to find them youll have to go to the MODEL page of your ACER as you've not filled in your specs.
    wifi or Ethernet were not mind readers.
