Acer Laptop Downgrade, Cannot get any LAN/WIFI Drivers

Laptop is an Acer Aspire E5-521G, 4GB RAM.

My uncle hates Windows 8, so me being me said Ill put Windows 7 on for him, did a backup and inserted my Windows 7 64bit USB stick, I had to change the BIOS to legacy as it wouldnt recognise the drive,

I proceeded to delete all partitions and install, went OK.. except none of the drivers LAN/WIFI will go on, chipset went on OK.

it just proceeds to tell me it cannot find any drivers. on Acer website, they only have the 8.1 Drivers, but I assumed they would be ok?

    Can anyone help please?

Hi Welcome to Seven ... Have you tried the Windows 8 Drivers from the Acer Website ? ...

Some times they can work ... Try them first and if not try the Driver below ...

Windows 8 uses NDIS 6.3 drivers, so if the network drivers for the hardware are Windows 8.x-specific, they're not going to work on Windows 7 (which uses NDIS 6.2 drivers). You can usually use older drivers on new OSes (with different levels of compatibility issues), but you can't use newer drivers on older OSes when the stack underneath has changed.

You might find luck with the driver list here:
Acer Aspire E5-521G Drivers Download for Windows 7, 8, XP, Vista

Note that the first "download" button for each device type is usually an ad or downloads an .exe instead of a .zip, so use the second download button in the list to get the real driver (I hate sites like these - but sometimes it's one of the only real options).

Looks like the system has a mix of Qualcomm Atheros and Realtek network options. Grabbing the network drivers from there (which are reference drivers for the specific hardware in the machine) might work, but be careful and know that reference drivers on OEM machines can cause problems if the hardware doesn't exactly match the reference design that the drivers were written for.

A load of unknown devices, no information and an ethernet controller and network controller, but with no details.

Under the Physical device option name for the ethernet controller, it says "\Device\NTPNP_PCI0012"

Sure you can - make a new Windows 8.1 ISO or USB image and use that.
