    1600x1200 distortion in Win7

After I installed Win7, my 1600x1200 resolution display is distorted. Round objects are oblong. When using same hardware with XP, display was correct.

Using Nvidia 9800GTX card on a 37" LCD TV via DVI connector on both ends.

Switching to 1600x1024 solves the problem.

The question is why is it different in Win7 if hardware and drivers are exactly the same.

I'm not sure I understand how the display could have been correct in Windows XP; 1600x1200 is a 4:3 resolution, and I have never heard of an LCD TV being 37" diagonal with a 4:3 ratio.

If possible, you should run your TV at its native resolution to eliminate any 'stretching'; without knowing exactly what TV you have, I would assume that this resolution is either 1280x720, 1366x768, or 1920x1080 (this is the case with many of the widescreen LCD TV's one can buy)

Do any of these resolutions appear in the 'display settings' menu? Can you find out for us exactly what kind of TV you have?

Also have a look at the nVidia control panel. There is a flat panel scaling option that will letterbox any 'incorrect' resolutions that are selected for display. This will result in an image that is still less than ideal compared to the native resolution, but nothing should be stretched.
