    Hi guys,

Sorry to keep posting but i just wanted to show you the programmable root enumerator warning sign that i also have in my device manager. I was wondering if this may have something to do with the issue here?

Oh. just to make sure we're on the same page: which OS selection and which product selection are you making for the download. And what is the download filename?

I'm glad you posted that. Yes, that could be the cause of the problem. Will post back

On the one hand, I took a look at the driver download but am pretty limited at what i can do/see because
    1) The driver files aren't fully unpacked until you run their Setup file
    2) I can't complete Setup because it waits for me to insert hardware I don't have

On the other hand, that I found that "Programmable Root Enumerator" is a MADCATZ device (so it is part of your driver install problem). I found this on their web site
... Programmable Hotkeys, Root Enumerator and Support for Keyboard and Mouse. These entries are installed as part of the programming software drivers. They are necessary for all programmable devices.
My best advice is look in Programs and Features and uninstall anything about MADCATZ. If the programmable enumerator is still there, then try right click uninstalling it from DevMgr. Once DevMgr is clear, try the driver download again. If driver download still fails, don't continue to try software install. It won't work.

If error continues, you're best to file a MADCATZ support ticket HERE and get help directly from them. That enumerator is a software device they created and install plus because of the way they've written their driver i'm limited because i don't have the hardware.

Don't know if anyone else here might know more about it. But i think you're still best going to MADCATX. Sorry.

Hope you can get it fixed.

Ok thanks for your help. So the root enumerator is not a standard pc programme? I have 2 on my device manager? I will try your suggestions and will repost the results. In the mean time if anyone else can help please let me know. Thanks

That particular enumerator is not standard. It's from Madcatz. Look at the General tab on Properties you'll see Madcatz as the manufacturer. If you click the driver tab, I'm certain Madcatz will also appear as the driver provider

yes your right, but there is still 1 enumerator on dev manager that has no option to delete. it is from madcatz and it says it is working properly.

Have managed to remove all madcatz programmes including the enumerator on dev manager, downloaded the driver again, and exactly the same result. the driver asks me to select the device i want to upgrade by plugging it in, which i do, the pc tells me its installing the driver software and then tells me that the driver was not found. i have no idea what to do here

Ok so i have reinstalled the software from the website and i thought that it may actually work this time. I had not yet installed the driver, but setup was fine and everything downloaded. The installation told me it was complete, i clicked finish, and i recieved the error message 'UNABLE TO LOAD JIT COMPILER: 9 MSCORJIT.DLL): FILE MAY BE MISSING OR CORRUPT'. Screenshot attached. Any ideas?
