Newer Driver for an older computer!

    Hey all,
I just finally got around to upgrading my 8 yr old Dell B130 Laptop to running Windows 7.
The monitor only displays at 1024x768(max) and is stretched left-right. I'd like to find a driver that would
correct this stretching issue as well as offer some higher resolutions that I once had.

I installed the Intel tool to check and find updates for a Win7 driver but none were found.
I downloaded a Vista driver for the Monitor, but this did not want to install.

    INFO:

Motherboard Name - Dell Inspiron 1300/B120/B130
    CPUID CPU Name - Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz

    RAM Total - 2039 MB
    North Bridge - Mobile Intel Alviso-G i915GM(S)/910GML
    South Bridge: - Intel 82801FBM ICH6-M

    BIOS Type - Phoenix
    BIOS Version - A09
    System BIOS Date - 06/29/06
    Video BIOS Date - 11/14/03

Device Description - Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Chip Type - Intel(r)915GM/910ML/915MS Graphics Chip Accelerated VGA BIOS
Video Adapter - Intel 82910GML/915GM(S) Graphics Controller 0

    Thanks for any help offered!

    Woah,
I did as described above and managed to install some chipset drivers in compatability mode, but the vga graphics drivers produced errors regardless of the possible options for install. I restarted the computer and it said it was installing the chipset drivers. Then it needed a restart, then another. Then it said it was installing vga drivers. Then another restart.

...And success. I now have 2 additional higher resolutions to work with. Now my circular icons look stretched top to bottom. Probably as I was slowly getting use to the left-right stretch!

    Thanks for the insight Maxie

I'd better make an image of my drive so I do not have to go through the hoopla again in case of a reinstall.
