Help, can't connect to internet

My friend has a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop, the hard drive packed in so I got her a new hard drive and new copy of windows 7. It has all loaded on fine but I cannot access the internet to download the dell drivers for the broadcom.USH, Ethernet controller and Network controller.I thought I could put them on a usb stick from my laptop but a couple of them say they will automatically install when downloaded and I don't want them on my computer. I tried to connect my modem straight into the laptop but because there are no modem drivers it won't work. Is there anything else I can try.

I hear your dilemma there. I would likely try the download anyway since the actual drivers are not likely to actually install (even though the installation routine might), and to then see whether the result would give me access to the actual drivers so I could carry them over to the other machine.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

It shouldn't install anything automatically. At worst it will ask you of it should run. And if UAC is on, you can just cancel it. No?

I think even if it downloads and installs you can always roll back to the older drivers on your laptop. The drivers are usually stored in the Windows System Driver folder during this process. I would then copy the Driver and DriverStore folder to a USB stick then hook it up to your friends Dell. When you start to search for the applicable drivers make sure it looks in that folder.

I had to go this route when I forgot to save the Driver folders prior to a re-install.

Edit: Just noticed you marked this thread as solved prior to my comment. Glad you figured it out.
