AMDA00 interface driver problem causing further problems

I have a custom build pc with a asus z97 motherboard. On boot i would get error messages saying driver failed to start. After closing these windows explorer would fail to work and programs would not open, also after these dialogue boxes are closed the sound does not work also. After booting into safe mode and opening device manager i can see that listed under system devices is the AMDA00 interface driver with the yellow exclamation mark. I have no AMD components in my PC. Is this what is causing my issues?

    Any help/ideas is greatly appreciated
    Many thanks, Mike

Short: Disable it in device manager until it has been fixed.

Do you have ASUS AI Suite installed? It's part of that, namely ASUS Probe (I think).

It's definitely something to do with the motherboard, it's possible Windows could have installed a defective driver for it through Windows Updates. Can you open Device Manager and expand System Devices and see if you have any signs showing.

It`s not an AMD component, it just happens to use those letters. Actually it`s AMDA :)
I have it, with no issues.
I don`t have any Asus software installed either, but I did use the disc for drivers.
I guess it`s just there in case you ever use the sensor probes. But I see no reason to.

must have just been installed with the drivers then, i will leave it disabled for a while to see if that solves the problem
