    RT2561 and similar ones (RT2560, RT2500 etc)

On ralink web page there are in fact drivers for Vista which are being claimed to work under it and 7 also...
For me, however, the newest drivers didn't worked... I have tried older ones (which were very hard to find) and those eventually made it...

The RT2561 and RT2560 chipset use a different set of driver than the RT2500 chipset, even though they both used to be packaged in the same install setup. The RT2500 based cards use the rt2500.sys drivers and the RT256x based cards use the netr6164.sys driver. I'm not sure about the 64 in the file name, it might be because I use the x64 version of Windows7 and the install only copied the 64bits files and not both, 32bits and 64bits, files.

if you have any problem and want to try even older drivers for your RT256x chipset based card, I still have a few older version of their drivers install package on my had drive. I had few problems with, what I thought was, their drivers under vista x64 before I realize that they didn't update the driver file for the RT2500 chipset since 2006 and all the problems were because of the ralink UI.

I installed the latest RT2500 drivers from the Ralink site and they worked with my Belkin F5D7000au. I had to install the drivers, and then manually select the drivers for the network adapter in the device manager (as always). I selected "Ralink RT2500 Wireless LAN Card" from the list of drivers, and it worked fine. Hope this helps.

    FYI - I'm using Windows 7 x64

If you have some trouble with finding drivers try the Maufacturers website first then maybe try this site

Home - X-DRIVERS.COM: eXtremly full software portal

I'd only try that if you really can't find the driver
